Here is your FFL Orlando 2023 Pre-Flight Checklist 003! It's hard to believe that we will be launching FFL in less than a month. We have so many exciting things lined up for you. Below you will find details about Device Trials and Demonstrations, Focus Groups, and social meetups (and much more)!
MAYDAY! MAYDAY! if you have not booked your hotel room, the room block closes TODAY, June 9th at 11:59 pm ET. Book your room here. If you have questions or concerns, or if you're looking to change the dates of your reservation, please call Disney at 407-939-4686.
Conference App:
You can now download the mobile app from the Apple App Store and Google Play to plan your Friends for Life experience. The app contains conference information, including the schedule, faculty and staff bios, and social activities. A username and password is not required. Download the app before you arrive!
Disney + Universal Park Tickets:
Slightly discounted multi-day tickets for Disney are available via the room block website at ffl.is/orlandohotel. There are no discounts on single-day tickets and they should be purchased through the regular Disney website. CWD is excited to share that we also have discounted tickets available for Universal at ffl.is/Universal2023. These tickets are almost half the price of purchasing a park-to-park ticket directly from Universal. Please note that you won't have time to visit parks during the conference but this might be a fun activity for you and the family post-FFL!

Focus Groups + Product Theaters

Wednesday is a special day at Friends for Life Orlando. You get a chance to participate in focus groups, where you can help shape the future of diabetes care products and services. Many focus groups are open to anyone, but some require pre-registration and may fill up quickly. In addition to focus groups, some of our industry partners and sponsors are excited to host product theaters. What’s a product theater? It’s an in-depth presentation and discussion about the newest medications, technologies, and products hitting the market!

Device Trials + Demonstrations
|
|
|
|
Diabetes care device companies are offering opportunities for an in-depth experience with their products during Friends for Life Orlando. These opportunities are by appointment only. Appointments will fill up quickly, so please sign up as soon as you can. Please note that saline pump trials may require a prescription from your diabetes team – you’ll receive information directly from the company after you request to participate. A TrialNet team will be on-site performing screenings beginning on Tuesday and continuing through Friday in Laredo 2. Family members who do not have type 1 diabetes can be screened for risk factors for developing diabetes and can potentially participate in important clinical trials. (No registration or appointment required)

Don't forget that submissions for DocuDiabetes are due Monday, June 19th at 11:59 pm ET. As a reminder, your video must be 60 seconds or less. Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
DocuDiabetes submissions will be shown at a screening on Wednesday, July 5th where they will be voted upon by your peers. The top five winners will premiere at the banquet on Thursday evening.
If this is your first year at Friends for Life, DocuDiabetes are 60-second videos documenting a day in the life with T1D. Funny, serious, poignant, rebellious, animated—it’s up to you! Check out submissions from 2022 on our YouTube channel at ffl.is/2022docudiabetes.

If you’re a Swiftie (AKA Taylor Swift Fan), you’re likely aware of the new friendship bracelet swap. The Fiffle (what we call our friends for life) bracelet swap is coming to Friends for Life Orlando 2023! What are the rules for participating? It's very simple, really.   
- Step one: Make (or buy—there are lots of options on Etsy if you prefer this route) friendship bracelets.
- Step two: Wear those friendship bracelets to Friends for Life.
- Step three: Trade with other Fiffles or gift the bracelets to people without bracelets to swap.
- Step four: Stop by the CWD booth in the Exhibit Hall Wednesday-Friday and create a friendship bracelet on site.
- Step five: Collect as many as you can!

Don't forget to pack your intergalactic gear for the space-themed banquet on Thursday night hosted by our friends at Walgreens! The theme is broad, all space gear is acceptable, be creative and have fun with it. Dressing up is just an option, not required. Here are photos from the 2022 safari-themed banquet.
Each registered attendee will receive an FFL Orlando 2023 conference t-shirt at check-in. A few reminders: while packing for the July Florida heat, come prepared for the convention center's chilly atmosphere with a sweater or light jacket. We see lots of afternoon thunderstorms so we suggest packing an umbrella or rain jacket for your walk to the convention center. ✨🌧️
